Villa Caferì is an independent, old style Sicilian property stretching over 7 hectares of privately owned farm estate. Located on a cliff top overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, right in front of the Aeolian Islands and very close to the charming bathing town of Gioiosa Marea (1km), it is to be found approx. 70 km west of Messina . Built in the late 18 th century according to the typical architectural style of the most remarkable buildings of its time, with thick stone walls and very high ceilings, it is a tranquil retreat, a haven of quietness, privacy and relaxation. The garden around the building is full of hydrangeas, oleanders, bougainvilleas, chicas, palm trees, orange and lemon trees and very, very, old olive trees. Guests coming to the Villa will be staying in a bio – orange-lemon-tangerine fruit and olive farm. They will be able to pick their own choice of seasonal fruit. A few steps in the garden lead up to a very large terrace and to the entrance of the house. Out here, night and day, there is a striking view over the valley and towards the sea which is less than a kilometre away. The sunset over the skyline of the Island of Alicudi is quite a sight! The Villa is also an ideal starting point from where to explore our beautiful and varied country. Historically, in this area there are some of the most ancient Greek and Roman Sicilian sites such as the Greek Theatre in Tyndaris or the Roman Villa in Patti (with mosaic floors no less important than the ones in Piazza Armerina).

The house is suitable for four persons sleeping in two pretty ample bedrooms. These rooms have high ceilings, the original decorated floors and are f urnished with old Sicilian country furniture, wardrobe and chests of drawers. The main double room has a queen size bed and the second one has wrought iron twin beds. The entrance, large enough to be lived as a second living room, gives access to a wide passage linking all the rooms to the main living room. The bathroom is with bath and t he washing machine is set there, while a second hot shower is set outdoors on the terrace. On one side of the big living room there is a roomy built-in kitchen, with majolica work tops and wooden cabinets, which is equipped with fridge, freezer, four burners, oven and all the tools you might need to cook the most sumptuous dinners. A window overlooking the valley can give an idea of what the day looks like while making your morning coffee. On the other side of the living room there is the dining table sitting up to eight p. and the comfortable conversation area equipped with a coffee table, TV and two sofas sitting up to six p. Two door windows light up the room: one overlooks the valley while the other leads directly to the terrace which is an important extension to the house, allowing a life "en plein air". This sunny place, overlooking the surrounding farmland, the extensive garden below and the sunset over the sea, is the right corner where to relax, sunbathe, read, take a hot shower or, simply, sit and watch the breathtaking view, while sipping a good glass of Sicilian wine. Cots available upon request. Sat TV, wood-burning stove, terrace furniture and car park is provided. Private direct access from "L'Uliveto" to the beach (Gioiosa Marea 1Km) is available. Parasols, sun deck chairs and canoes are available on our private area of the sandy beach in San Giorgio (8 Km).
